The Jabberwock, or perhaps Jabberwocks though only the most pessimistic of men would entertain that idea, is a hideous monstrosity native to the isles of Kars.  It is known to attack travellers along the road near the Tulgey Wood, setting upon them from seemingly out of nowhere.  Rumor has it that the great beast hordes treasure, not unlike a dragon; however, its lair has never been found.

The Jabberwock appears as a large, clumsy, wyvern-like creature with tattered, useless wings, a long neck, and a misshapen, bulbous head.  Accounts of its color vary - leading terrifying credence to the idea that there may be more than one - but it is the general consensus that it is either a mottled grey or a musty yellow.

The Jabberwock is only hit by +1 or better weapons.  It is surprisingly stealthy and has a 3 in 6 chance of surprising opponents.  The Jabberwock is incredibly stupid and speaks no known language, instead it burbles out a hideous noise that causes a morale check in any NPCs encountering it.
